The Vision
Formerly known as The Inn at St. John’s, this historic property had long been a community landmark but needed a complete transformation to reach its full potential. When the Pulte Family Foundation acquired the property from the Archdiocese of Detroit, their vision was to create a premier Midwest destination for weddings, conferences, and leisure — blending heritage with modern luxury.
Our Approach
Boutique Hotel Professionals partnered with the ownership team to oversee a comprehensive $50+ million redevelopment, which included:
Expanding ballroom and event space from 35,000 sq. ft. to 100,000 sq. ft., making it one of the region’s most versatile event venues.
Creating two new restaurant concepts to complement the resort’s acclaimed steakhouse.
Renovating guest accommodations and enhancing resort amenities to align with luxury standards.
Designing curated guest experiences to elevate the property’s position as a premier hospitality destination.
The Results
The reimagined Saint John’s Resort has established itself as a leading event, dining, and leisure destination in Michigan. In 2025, the property was recognized by Condé Nast Traveler and earned top honors in the U.S. News & World Report Rankings, including:
